- Centres and Databases

Several centres in Ulster now have computer databases that can be of assistance in tracing Scots-Irish immigrants. These databases can save time and effort in searching records to determine an origin. The centres offer research services including searches in their databases. The centres cover particular counties, and their databases generally include such sources as church records, censuses and census substitutes, gravestone inscriptions, and tax records.

In addition to the above centres, Ulster American Folk Park maintains the "Emigration Database." This database includes information from many record sources, such as passenger lists, emigrant letters and diaries, family papers, and newspapers. The database is available for research at the Folk Park and at the five Education and Library Boards in Northern Ireland.
