May 31 2021: The YouTube channel now has 17 short videos about the site and Irish records. Complete with rants and bloopers.

July 23 2020: Updated the entire site to provide a better service for smartphone users. And to make Google love me.
May 28 2020: Added more than 12,000 new surname variants, bringing the total to 1,082,604. Also updated the church record listings to include the most recent Rootsireland releases for Armagh, Kerry and Wicklow.
April 4 2020: Updated all the free Browse section Record guides to the most recent edition of Tracing Your Irish Ancestors.

New sections on 'Where to start' and Graveyards. Big changes and additions especially to Wills, Newspapers, The Registry of Deeds and Occupations, with new short accounts of researching Irish ancestors in the Army, attorneys and barristers, clergymen, teachers, policemen and doctors.
February 14 2020: Finally got around to adding journal article and book chapter references for family histories. Mullally, for example.
February 11 2020: Added 200 more links to the online passenger lists, along with the option of sorting search results by name, year, origin or destination.
January 31 2020: Finally got around to adding view by origin, destination and year to the online passenger lists links.
January 26 2020: Newspaper listings revised and brought up to date, with new direct links to the archive publication page. For example, The Freeman's Journal on Irish Newspaper Archives and on the British Newspaper Archive.
September 22 2019: Almost 500 new surnames and 7,000 new surname variants added, part of the digitisation of the 1899 Dublin city municipal voters register. Such wonders as Rennix, Ripit, Bargatee and Barronfeather now available.
June 30 2019: Updates of non-Catholic parish listings on rootisireland.ie and at the RCBL. (Made possible by the new feature introduced below).
May 23 2019: New feature allows filtering of county church records listings by repository.
May 10 2019: New Ordnance Survey Ireland links now cover 24 counties.
April 2 2019: Added links to modern Google maps. Also new OSI links for 15 counties so far, moving north to south.
Dec 20 2018: Added links to civil parish maps on townlands.ie, as replacement for OSI link. New OSI links soon.

Nov 17 2017: Updated the years covered by the BMD record images on IrishGenealogy.ie: births now imaged 1864-1916, marriages 1870-1941, deaths 1878-1966. For example, Oughteragh, Co. Leitrim.
Nov 12 2017: Several hundred new surname variants listed (e.g. Daisy, Kennirk, Tonra) .
Oct 21 2017: Added links to the FindMyPast transcripts of the Quit Rent Office surveys of the inhabitants of Nohovaldaly and Ballincuslane parishes.
Sept 30 2017: Fixed the problem breaking direct links to Griffith's from townlands in different parishes with the same name in the same county. For example, in Galway Ballynakill (Ballymoe), Ballynakill (Ballynahinch), Ballynakill (Killian), Ballynakill (Leitrim barony).
Sept 8 2017: Updated the quick-and-dirty 'What's online?' page. And finally added a link to it from the Browse menu.
August 22 2017: Fixed bug in households by Catholic parish. E.g. Alford/Olford; Added another 400 new surnames (starting D,E,F) found in 1901 and 1911 censuses.

July 21 2017: Added direct links from church records to the Representative Church Body Library full parish references, including vestry, preachers and confirmation records. See Offerlane, Laois, for example.
