Hoban numerous: Mayo-Galway, Midands etc. Ir. Ó h-Úbáin. Believed to be a branch of Cineál Eoghain of Ulster, they have been associated with Mayo and Kilkenny. James Hoban, the architect of The White House in Washington, was from Carlow. MIF.
