Hannagen rare: Clare, Galway. Ir. Ó h-Annagáin, perhaps from annadh = delay. See Hannigan.
Hannigan numerous: Fermanagh-Tyrone-Donegal, Midlands, Waterford and generally. Ir. Ó h-Annagáin. Historically associated with Tyrone and Waterford but information on origins is vague. SI,MIF & SGG.
