Crahan | Very rare: Meath. Ir. Ó Carráin, Mac Criomhthainn. The former relates to Leinster, the latter to Munster where it is usually MacCrohan. In some cases changed to Curran. SI. |
Crehan | Quite numerous: Galway-Mayo-Roscommon and Limerick-Kerry-Clare. Ir. Ó Croidheáin in Connacht; in Munster it is synonymous with Crean, q.v., itself derived from Curreen so Ir. Ó Corraidhín, Curraoin. See also Ó Creacháin. |
