Commins Quite numerous: Tipperary, Waterford, Connacht, N Leinster. Ir. Ó Comáin (Munster) and Ó Cuimín (Connacht). See also Cummins.
Commons fairly rare: Galway, Mayo, Sligo, N Leinster. See Cummins etc. Also a Scottish name. See Coman. SI.
Comyns fairly rare: Cork, Meath etc. Ir. Coimín, O Cuimín. The original name was Anglo- Norman of 12 cent, but it is usually an anglicisation of Ó CuimÍn etc. IF.
