de Grae Gray, Grey: an-líonmhar tríd an dtír: Cúige Uladh go sonrach - de bhunadh Albanach annsan. Tugadh Gray ar Mac Cathail Riabhaigh i gConnachta, uaireannta. Tá an sloinne coitinn i Sasana, leis an mbrí: (1) liath: dath gruaige agus (2) ón áit Graye sa bhFrainc.
Gray Very numerous: Ulster generally, Leinster, Connacht. Ir. de Grae; Mac Cathail Riabhaigh, the latter in Midlands and Connacht. The name is mainly of Scottish origin. Of these, no doubt, Betsy Grey, the heroine of 1798. IF.
