Doody fairly numerous: Munster. Ir. Ó Dubhda. A Kerry version of O'Dowd, q.v.
Duddy fairly numerous: Derry-Donegal etc. Ir. Ó Dubhda. A northern version of Dowd, q.v.
O'Dowda numerous: all areas, especially Connacht and N Munster. Ir. Ó Dubhda, from first name Dubhdach, dark. A sept of N Connacht, they appeared in Munster as Doody and in Derry as Duddy. IF.
