De Stacpoole | Very rare: Meath. Ir. Galldubh (black foreigner-this is not derogatory in Irish). This family, then called Stakbolle, came from Wales 13 cent. Hence the Gaelic cognomen which was also used by the Stapletons, q.v. MIF. |
