Flanagan Very numerous: all areas but especially S E Leinster, Connacht, S Ulster. The Irish is Ó Flannagáin, Flann, a popular personal name meaning "blood-red". A sept of Roscommon related to the O'Connors; another of Fermanagh. There were also groups in Offaly and Waterford. IF & SGG.
