Bhain sé Cúige na Mí de Mhuintir Uí Mhaoilsheachlainn, teaghlach ríoga na Mí, agus dhein Annraoi a Dó Iarla de. Bhí clann eile ag Baile an Gharraí, Luimneach, ach tá tuairim ag Mac Giolla Iasachta gur dream difriúil iad. Ar aon chuma, bhí siad chun tosaigh ar son na h-Éireann sa 16 & 17 céad. Lacey numerous: South East, E Leinster, N Munster etc. Ir. de Léis. Anglo-Normans in Meath (12 cent) and Limerick, perhaps two separate families; also Ir. Ó Laitheasa in Wexford. This is Ó Flaitheasa (ruler-choice) with "F" aspirated. SI, IF & SGG.
Lacy Quite numerous: Midlands etc. As Lacey. Reaney states that the name is from Lassy in Normandy. DBS.
Leacy Quite numerous: Wexford etc. Ir. Ó Laitheasa from Flaitheas, principality. A sept of Wexford which predates the Norman Lacey, q.v. SGG.
