Surname Dictionary

Mullally numerous: South East, Tipperary-Limerick etc. Ir. Ó Maolalaidh (speckled chief, according to Woulfe). They were a branch of the Uí Maine in E Galway, where the name has been abbreviated to Lally, q.v. IF.
