Gissane rare: Dublin. Ir. Ó Cíosáin,(cíos, tribute) generally Kissane, q.v., in its native Kerry but strangely changed to Cashman in Cork.MIF.
Kissane fairly numerous: Kerry-Clare-Tipperary etc. Ir. Ó Ciosáin, correctly Cíosáin from cíos, rent or tribute. It appears as Cashman in Cork. SI &MIF.
