Surname Dictionary

Hanrahan numerous: mainly Munster and S Leinster. Ir. Ó h-Anracháin. This name has been identified with Hourihan, Ir. Ó h-Anradháin, anradh, a warrior, and Woulfe applies it to four septs in Clare, W Cork, Laois and Meath. However, it is less confusing to deal with each name as it occurs.
