Guiry Quite numerous: S Tipperary-Waterford, Limerick-Kerry. Ir. Ó Gadhra, gadhar, a dog. See Geary (Munster); O'Gara (Connacht). Woulfe says that the name originated in North Connacht and some moved to Munster in 16 cent. IF & SGG.
