MacShortall Very rare: Dublin. Ir. Mac Seartail: a gaelicisation of the English name, which appeared in Ireland 13 cent and was prominent in Kilkenny. Now, it is usually without the "Mac" prefix.
Shortall fairly numerous: Dublin, Kilkenny-Laois-Offaly etc. Ir. Seartal. Anglo-Normans, 13 cent, who settled in S Leinster and became gaelicised. The name is associated with Kilkenny. MIF.
Shortle rare: Wexford. Variant of Shortall.
