KILMACTALWAY

KILMACTALWAY, a parish, in the barony of NEWCASTLE, county of DUBLIN, and province of LEINSTER, 7 miles (W. S. W.) from Dublin ; containing 472 inhabitants and 1575 statute acres. Here are Castle Bagot, the seat of 3. 3. Bagot, Esq., a spacious mansion in a well-wooded demesne of about 500 statute acres ; and Ballybane, of A. Graydon, Esq. It is a rectory, in the diocese of Dublin, and in the patronage of the Archbishop, forming the corps of the prebend of Kilmactalway in Christ-Church cathedral, Dublin, and is held with the union of Clondalkin: the tithes amount to £184. 12. 4. In the R. C. divisions it is part of the union or district of Lucan.
