TUBBER

TUBBER, a parish, in the barony of UPPERCROSS, county of DUBLIN, and province of LEINSTER, 1 mile (N.) from Dunlavan, on the road to Ballymore-Eustace , containing 104 inhabitants. The parish, which comprises only 900 acres, is situated at the point of junction of the counties of Kildare, Dublin, and Wicklow. It is a curacy, in the diocese of Dublin, annexed by act of council, in 1833, to the union of Dunlavan : the rec-tory is appropriate to the archbishop. The tithes amount to £88. 12. 3-. In the R. C. divisions it forms part of the union or district of Dunlavan. There are slight remains of the old church, situated in a burial-place near an old mansion, the property of the Leslie family, now occupied by the police.
