MOWNEY

MOWNEY, or MOONY, a parish, in the barony of SLIEVARDAGH, county of TIPPERARY, and province of MUNSTER, 4 miles (E. by S.) from Killenaule ; containing 400 inhabitants, This parish comprises 1522 statute acres, as applotted under the tithe act, and valued at £1576 per annum. It is a rectory and vicarage, in the diocese of Cashel, forming part of the union of Lismain and the corps of the archdeaconry of Cashel ; the tithes amount to £92. 6. 2.
