Ó Proinntigh Prunty: cuíosach líonmhar: Fear Manach-Cabhán-Muineachán-Longfort. Sa 17 céad, bhí siad i gCríoch Moghdhorn (Muineachán) agus Fiodh Conaile (Ard Mhacha). Prunty as an Dún dob'ea athair na ndeirfiúracha Brontë, na h-úrscéalaithe iomráiteacha i Sasana. An bhrí: pronntach = fial, flaithiúil.
Prenty Very rare: Mayo. A variant of Prunty, q.v.
Prunty fairly numerous: Fermanagh-Cavan-Longford-Monaghan-Tyrone. Ir. Ó Proinntigh (generous). The father of the writers Brontë was a Prunty from Down.
