Surname Dictionary

Mulvaney numerous: Midlands, Sligo-Roscommon, Dublin: Ir. Ó Maolmhaghna or Ó Maoilmheana. This is a Leinster name but it may be synonymous with Mulvenna in Ulster. SI.
Mulvenna Quite numerous: Antrim-Down etc. Ir. Ó Maoilmheana, servant of Meana. They were a literary family attached to the O'Kanes of Derry; in the upheavals of the 17 cent, they moved to Antrim. MIF.
