Gilbane Very rare: Leitrim. Lr. Mac Giolla Bháin (fair servant). Usually Kilbane and often changed to White, Whyte. SGG.
Kilbane Quite numerous: mainly Achill (Mayo) and Connacht generally. Ir. Mac Giolla Bháin (white servant). They were a sept of Uí Fiachrach in Sligo. Sometimes changed to White. SI.
