Kildea fairly rare: Ulster, Galway etc. Ir. Mac Giolla Dé (God's servant). A Donegal name which has spread to Connacht and Clare. Also as Gildea. MIF.
Mac Giolla Dé Gildea: cuíosach líonmhar: Connachta, Tír Chonaill. Clann a bhí gaolmhar leis na Domhnallaigh thuaidh agus a bhog ó dheas faoi bhrú na Plandála.
